Would changing the cluster name impact the existing SnapMirror relationships?
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- SnapMirror
- Cluster peering
Answer
Changing the name of the cluster has no impact on the SnapMirror relationship or on cluster peering.
Additional Information
- Cluster peer relationship is based on the UUID. You may check the cluster UUID using the command
::> cluster peer show -instance
- The
::> cluster peer show
command would continue to display the old name after the change. Please follow the linked KB to fix this. - If there are any applications/scripts that rely on the cluster's hostname, they may not be able to function because of the name change. Hence, modify the DNS records accordingly.
