Would changing the cluster name impact the existing SnapMirror relationships?

Answer

Changing the name of the cluster has no impact on the SnapMirror relationship or on cluster peering.

Additional Information

  • Cluster peer relationship is based on the UUID. You may check the cluster UUID using the command ::> cluster peer show -instance
  • The ::> cluster peer show command would continue to display the old name after the change. Please follow the linked KB to fix this.
  • If there are any applications/scripts that rely on the cluster's hostname, they may not be able to function because of the name change. Hence, modify the DNS records accordingly.
