Question

  • Why does Destination volume does not autogrow automatically the same as the source volume?
  • Why does changes to the source volume autogrow settings does not automatically reflect on the destination volume?

Answer

  • In type-XDP SnapMirror relationship:
    • ONTAP handles the Source volume and the Destination volume independently when configuring the volume size
    • Autosize settings are also independent between source and destination
      Example:
      max-autosize, min-autosize, autosize-grow-threshold-percent, autosize-shrink-threshold-percent and autosize-mode
