Answer

When starting a destination Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) in a Disaster Recovery (DR) configuration, the audit behavior is as follows:

  •  Auditing will start automatically on the destination SVM when the vserver is started.
This ensures that all user actions such as access and modification of data files are monitored from the moment the SVM is operational.

  •  A new log for the destination vserver is created in the audit log destination path.
This log will capture all relevant audit events from the point the SVM is started, ensuring continuity in audit logging and compliance with auditing policies.

Additional Information:

  • Ensure that the audit configuration is correctly set up on the destination SVM to capture the necessary events.
  • Verify the audit log destination path to ensure that it has sufficient space and is correctly configured to store the audit logs.
