Issue

  • SnapMirror is not making progress
  • SnapMirror update fails with
Failed to create Snapshot copy "<>" on destination volume "vserver:volume". (FlexGroup is not ready for snapshot operations. Try again after a few seconds)
  • EMS logs show

Tue Dec XX XX:XX:XX +0000 [node1: snapd_cmode: wafl.snap.create.skip.reason:error]: Flexgroup_vol__0001 XXXX: Skipping creation of hourly.2024-XX-XX_0105 Snapshot copy (Snapshot operation could not be completed at this time because the volume is busy. Try again later.).

Tue Dec XX XX:XX:XX +0000 [node1: snapd_cmode: wafl.snap.create.skip.reason:error]: Flexgroup_vol__0001 XXXX: Skipping creation of hourly.2024-XX-XX_0405 Snapshot copy (FlexGroup is not ready for snapshot operations. Try again after a few seconds.).

  • Manual Snapshot creation on the source succeeds
  • 'snapmirror abort' and 'snapmirror update' do not help mitigate the error seen on the relationship
