SnapMirror is failing with CSM: Connection aborted if Intercluster lif is down

Issue

  • SnapMirror or SnapVault updates will fail when the intercluster LIF of the node owning the volume is taking down (admin/operation-state down).
  • SnapMirror or SnapVault updates are in state Transferring with 0KB forever when one of the source intercluster LIF in the state down.

Error associated with the failure: Transfer failed. (CSM: Connection aborted.)

OR

Last Transfer Error: Failed to create Snapshot copy snapmirror.xxxxxx_2147523520.2023volume vserver:vol.(CSM: Connection aborted.)
