Issue

Although the abort is reported on the SnapMirror source, there are no additional messages indicating the cause of the failure. Since SnapMirror is a 'pull' operation (scheduled and initiated from the destination storage controller), more insight into the cause of an issue can be obtained from the destination.

A review of the EMS logs report that aggr2 is out of space. As the SnapMirror destination, vmware_edrsdr, resides on aggr2, the lack of space is causing the SnapMirror transfer to fail.

The following are example messages from EMS:

[?] Wed Feb 18 00:28:04 EST [evrs-ntap02: wafl_exempt02: wafl.vvol.xfer.nospacedestErr:error]: Transfer to volume 'vmware_edrsdr' failed because the containing aggregate, 'aggr2', is out of space. [?] Wed Feb 18 00:42:06 EST [evrs-ntap02: worker_thread_483: replication.dst.err:error]: SnapMirror: destination transfer from ev!rs-ntap01:vmware_edrs to vmware_edrsdr : replication transfer failed to complete
