Slow SnapMirror transfers due to network loss

Issue

  • Slow SnapMirror updates are being seen, and replication is not keeping up.
  • A new SnapMirror initialization is too slow.
  • ONTAP may show good response time in the command  qos statistics workload latency show -workload _SNAPMIRROR
  • CPU and disk utilization on the source and destination are low further indicating there is not a performance issue
  • The full link speed may not be utilized
    • Example: Only seeing total interface throughput of 1 MB/s on a 1 Gb/s Ethernet link
