SVM DR does not replicate iSCSI or FC SAN configuration
Applies to
- SVM Disaster Recovery (SVM DR)
- SAN protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel)
- NVME namespaces
- LUNs hosted on SVMs protected by SVM DR relationships
Issue
After SVM DR failover, SAN access is not functional on the destination SVM even though LUNs are present.
Storage administrators may expect iSCSI / FC client connectivity or host access objects (igroups, portsets) to be available on the DR destination, but find that these objects are missing.
- LUNs exist and are visible on the destination SVM after SVM DR activation
- Hosts are unable to access LUNs
- One or more of the following SAN objects are missing on the destination SVM:
- iSCSI configuration
- Fibre Channel configuration
- igroups
- portsets
- LUN serial numbers associated with host mappings
