SVM-DR transfer for FlexGroup volume failed with "Internal error"

Issue

  • After converting a volume from FlexVol to FlexGroup on the Source cluster, the Snapmirror relationship became unhealthy and updates failed.
  • Error message on "snapmirror audit log" in autosupport after the conversion:

XXXX FlexGroupScheduledUpdate[XXXX]:XXXX Operation-Uuid=XXXX Group=flexgroup Operation-Cookie=0 action=End source=XXXX:XXXX=XXXX:XXXX status=Failure message=Internal error.

  • Error message on "snapmirror show" output:
SVM DR relationship: Transfer for volume "Flexgroup_1" failed. Reason: Internal error.
Volume impacted: Internal error.
Constituents: Failed to get transfer Snapshot information from source volume "XXXX:XXXX. (Volume XXXX:XXXX does not have Snapshot copy vserverdr.XXXX.)
