Applies to

  • Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM)
  • NetApp ONTAP SnapMirror Active Sync (SM-as) — DR Failover Configuration
  • Sanlock version: as shipped with VDSM/OLVM
  • Storage protocol: FC / iSCSI with DM-Multipath (ALUA)

Issue

  • The Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager default sanlock io_timeout is 10 seconds.
  • The combination of the default 10 second sanlock io_timeout and 80 second hypervisor lease-renewal window can result in failover of High Availability (HA) VM across OLVM HA nodes.
  • High Availability can experience unexpected failovers or disruptions when the 10 second sanlock io_timeout and 80 second hypervisor lease-renewal are configured.
