Answer

Note: Always contact NetApp Technical Support when using Wafliron.

Wafliron can be run on a volume used by SnapMirror or SnapVault. However, some limitations apply depending on the SnapMirror/SnapVault configuration.

Source volume

If the volume is the source for a SnapMirror relationship, there is no impact to the relationship running Wafliron.

Destination volume

  • If the volume is the destination of a Snapmirror relationship, an additional Wafliron argument is required to make the volume writeable.
  • Once Wafliron is complete, the SnapMirror and SnapVault relationships will be in a broken-off state.
  • In order to resume updates, the relationships must be resynchronized or re-initialized.
