Description

  • Customer has scheduled local snapshots by using SCV on the primary ONTAP (on-premises).
  • When the SCV snapshot is completed, it is configured to execute SnapMirror to the secondary ONTAP (on-premises).
  • Additionally, the customer would like to configure backups from the secondary ONTAP to Cloud (e.g. AWS S3) via BlueXP.
  • Customer also would like to execute the backup to cloud each time the SnapMirror from the primary ONTAP to the secondary ONTAP is completed and keep the same number of generations as set in the SCV policy of the primary ONTAP.
  • This article describes how to use BlueXP GUI to customize the backup policy for backing up on-premises ONTAP data to the cloud.
