Answer

  • Generally no, if the Environment is fully up to the requirements for the Intercluster Network latency and throughput, then there should be no noticeable difference to traditional SAN performance.
  • However, latent Intercluster Communication can affect the write performance by delaying the confirmation due to the Synchronous replication.
  • SnapMirror for business continuity requires a maximum RTT of 10 ms between the source and destination
  • You can test the Intercluster throughput with the network test-path command
