  • ONTAP 9.8 and later
  • SnapMirror Active Sync (SMAS) / SnapMirror Business Continuity (SMBC)
  • Windows, VMware, and database workloads using SMBC-protected LUNs

Issue

  • After upgrading ONTAP on a node in the destination cluster, client applications can stop responding
  • This also happens during planned takeover or giveback events

Symptoms:

    • IIS web servers crash.
    • Custom Windows services fail.
    • Large databases disconnect.
    • Timeout errors appear when I/O is paused for too long.
