CVO System Manager fails to update Snapmirror policy - The policy associated with the relationship cannot be modified

Issue

  • Prior to upgrading an on prem ONTAP system from 9.7 to 9.8, protection relationships were able to be created using the Mirror policy.
  • However since upgrading the on prem system, Mirror is no longer an option on the on prem system and is only showing Asynchronous as an option in System Manager.
  • Further, attempting to change relationships with Mirror associated to the CVO instances, the following error is shown:
    The policy associated with the relationship cannot be modified
