Is it possible to rename directories in a Snaplock volume?

Answer

You can only rename a directory if it is empty—containing no files or subdirectories.

  • This change was implemented in ONTAP 9.3P4
  • In earlier Ontap versions it is not possible to rename a volume, which impacts the creation of directories via Windows Explorer
