Issue

  • Configuring NDMP authentication in SVM-Scope includes a step to generate a NDMP password for an existing user
  • Under specific circumstances, it is possible for the vserver services ndmp generate-password command to fail, displaying:

Error: show failed: Cannot get password for user [user name]

  • The primary cause for this error is a non-existent user account
  • In this scenario, the account is known to exist, and the cause of the error is not clear
