Answer

  • No,it is not possible to configure audit logs for OTV itself.
  • OTV does not provide functionality to output audit logs (detailed logs recording who performed which operations) or to configure granular audit settings from the GUI at the vCenter Plugin (appliance) level.
  • If audit log requirements exist, the following methods can be combined to address them:
    • vCenter task and event logs
      • vCenter retains a history of events and tasks (accessible via "Tasks and Events" in the vSphere Client).
      • Note: Detailed operations performed on NetApp storage are not included in the standard vCenter audit scope.
    • ONTAP cluster audit logs
      • ONTAP clusters have an "audit log" feature that records administrator actions and API executions.
      • Example: Operations performed via ONTAP CLI, System Manager, or REST API can be recorded in audit logs (such as /etc/log/mlog/audit.log).
      • When ONTAP tools initiate API calls to storage, some of these actions are recorded in the ONTAP audit logs.
