Why is there no option for takeover / giveback in System Manager 9.8?

Answer

  • Takeover and giveback happen automatically when rebooting nodes.
  • HA information is available when cluster has failed over
  • System Manager in Cluster > Settings uses reboot and shutdown commands to perform takeover / giveback of data services.
  • reboot will perform a takeover, reboot the node and automatically perform a giveback.
  • shutdown will perform a takeover, and drop the system to the loader prompt requiring console access.
  • Use CLI to perform a manual takeover for maintenance reasons.
