Why does System Manager display "Hardware visualization is not supported for this model" when viewing Hardware?

Answer

  • Hardware Visualization is introduced in ONTAP System Manager 9.8.
  • Hardware Visualization is currently in preview mode and only supports a limited number of AFF models.
    • FAS models are not viewable in this feature at this time.
    • As mixed clusters (clusters with both FAS and AFF models) include FAS, these clusters also cannot be viewed.
    • It is not possible to view only the supported nodes in a cluster, all nodes must be one of the supported models.
  • At the time of this writing, these are the supported models:
    • C190
    • A220
    • A300
    • A400
    • A700
