Unable to add SVMs from the ONTAP System Manager web interface

Issue

  • When adding an SVM using the web interface reports an error with contacting DNS servers to discover domain controllers.
  • An error similar to the following is seen in the web interface:

[Job 30635] Job failed: Failed to create the Active Directory machine account "SVM_NAME".
Reason: SecD Error: no servers available
Details: Error: Machine account creation procedure failed [ 0 ms] Trying to create machine account 'SVM_NAME' in 'DOMAIN.COM' for SVM 'svm_name' **[17] FAILURE: Unable to contact DNS to discover domain ** controllers. [24] Unable to contact DNS to discover domain controllers. [30] No servers available for MS_LDAP_AD, vserver: 110, domain: DOMAIN.COM..

  • The mgwd logs show the same error as seen in the web interface:
