ONTAP System Manager (OSM)

Answer

If encryption has been enabled on a system, meaning a key manager has been created, ONTAP System Manager will use that as default and will encrypt volumes created with System Manager.

Workaround:

If encryption is not required on certain volumes, use the CLI to create those volumes.
