Editing a relationship in ONTAP System Manager 9.7+ results in error

  • SnapMirror with system-defined policy or with mirror or vault policy type

Issue

System Manager fails to edit relationship by PROTECTION > Relationships > <SOURCE> > More > Edit with the following error

  • System Manager 9.7 or 9.8
    The policy associated with the relationship cannot be modified.
  • System Manager 9.9 or 9.10.1
    The policy associated with the relationship cannot be modified because the relationship with policy "<POLICY>" cannot be edited.
