API call to ONTAP returns "exceeds configured session limit"

Issue

While performing a large number of API requests, ONTAP returns a message similar to the following:
 
httpd.api.expired.session.limit: A Manage ONTAP(R) API request (GET /api/private/cli/volume) has expired after 182 seconds. Last error: This request exceeds the configured session limit (20) for your application ("Harvest/24.11.1").

or

This request exceeds the configured session limit (20) for your application ("python-requests/2.25.1"). :: Throttled
