Why does an e0M disconnection on node2 not trigger a syslog Alert
Applies to
ONTAP 9
Issue
- On node1, both the node management LIF and cluster management LIF are set on e0M.
- On node2, only the node management LIF is set on e0M.
- When the e0M network interface is disconnected on node2, an alert event is generated and transmitted via SNMP as expected, but no corresponding alert is transmitted via syslog.
- However, when other interfaces are disconnected on node2, the alert event is transmitted via both SNMP and syslog.
