  • ONTAP 9
  • FabricPool
  • MetroCluster(MCC)
  • StorageGrid

Answer

  • No, in a MetroCluster FabricPool configuration, each bucket is mirrored, and data is tiered to two buckets synchronously. If connectivity
is interrupted to the primary bucket, ONTAP will make GET operations to read the data from the secondary bucket so that data is available.
  • This is outlined on page 35 of the FabricPool best practices document.
  • ONTAP will stop tiering while one of the object stores is unavailable, and data will be written to the performance tier. Tiering will resume once both object stores are available again.
