Why cross volume deduplication scan progress shows Progress: xx KB done larger than the aggregate physical capacity?

Answer

  • Progress: xx KB Done represents the total sum of data blocks scanned on all volumes in the aggregate.
  • The target volume's data blocks refer to the volume's logical capacity, hence it is expected to exceed the aggregate physical total capacity.
