Why cross volume deduplication scan progress shows Progress: xx KB done larger than the aggregate physical capacity?
Applies to
- ONTAP 9
- ONTAP Storage Efficiency
Answer
Progress: xx KB Donerepresents the total sum of data blocks scanned on all volumes in the aggregate.- The target volume's data blocks refer to the volume's logical capacity, hence it is expected to exceed the aggregate physical total capacity.
Example:
::> storage aggregate efficiency cross-volume-dedupe show -aggregate aggr1
Aggregate: aggr1
