Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2 Cluster Interconnect SwitchDescription
This article describes how to modify the Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2 cluster switch reference configuration files (RCF) (e.g. Cluster-HA-Breakout RCF v1.8) to meet specific port speed needs. This modification is supported by NetApp.
Note: RCF files are not upgraded, once an RCF is applied. You re-apply a new RCF to a reinitialized switch.
- A Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2 switch includes 36 x QSFP+/QSFP28 ports (1 - 36).
- By default, Cluster-HA-Breakout RCF v1.8 sets the following port configuration:
- Ports 1-3 are set to 4 x 10GbE mode - used for cluster nodes
- Ports 4-6 are set to 4 x 25GbE mode - used for cluster nodes
- Ports 7-34 are set to 40GbE or 100GbE - used for cluster nodes
- Ports 35-36 are ISL ports and set to 100GbE
- By default, Cluster-HA-Breakout RCF v1.8 sets the following port configuration:
- If an ONTAP cluster requires a different port speed configuration for the switch, the configuration can be tailored to the specific ONTAP cluster's needs.
- If more 10GbE or 25GbE ports are needed, additional 40/100GbE ports can be set to 10GbE or 25GbE breakout modes.
