Unable to SSH to Brocade switch due to missing ipfilter configuration

Issue

  • Attempting to SSH into a Brocade switch fails
  • Typically the switch is either a new switch or a replacement switch
  • From a local console connection the ipfilter command shows no rules are configured:

ipfilter --show 

Name: default_ipv4, Type: ipv4, State: active

Rule    Source IP                Protocol   Dest Port   Action

 

Name: default_ipv6, Type: ipv6, State: active

Rule    Source IP                Protocol   Dest Port   Action
