FOS upgrade fails with error "non-standard media plugged into port" while upgrading to FOS 9.0.x

Issue

  • FOS code upgrade fails with message “Ports X,Y,Z have Non Standard Media plugged into them
  • Upgrading same switch to v9.0.x is failing, while upgrading to higher version of v8.2.x works fine without any issues.
  • The ports called out in the above error message do not have Brocade supported SFPs in them.  The SFPs could be counterfeit or they could simply not be Brocade branded SFPs.
