Issue

  • Brocade 6505 with a single PSU is alerting  a fan issue:
  • Errdump alerts:

2022/12/14-10:52:00, [MAPS-1021], 35, FID 128, WARNING, switch1, RuleName=defCHASSISBAD_FAN_MARG, Condition=CHASSIS(BAD_FAN>=1), Obj:Chassis [ BAD_FAN,1] has contributed to switch status MARGINAL.

  • mapsdb --show  alters status as MARGINAL

  • Output of psshow and fanshow is as expected:

/fabos/cliexec/psshow:
Power Supply #1 is OK
Power Supply #2 is absent

/fabos/cliexec/fanshow:
Fan 1 is Ok, speed is 8653 RPM
Fan 2 is Absent

  •  The Switch status policy is as expected for a single PSU switch. 
switch.status.policy.PowerSupplies.down = 2
switch.status.policy.PowerSupplies.marginal = 0
switch.status.policy.Fans.down:2
switch.status.policy.Fans.marginal:0
