Applies to

  • EF300 and EF600 FC models with the default volume block size of 4KB
  • SANtricity OS version earlier than 11.80.1R3P1
  • Mac clients

Issue

  • EF300/EF600 storage system fails to be mounted with Mac computers.
  • The Xsan/StorNext hosts detect E-Series volumes and assign them an incorrect block size, causing them to be recognized as an "unknown MBR device",
  • Although the volumes were configured with 4KB sectors, the hosts mistakenly reported them as having 512B sectors.
