E-Series failed disk pool volumes on SANtricity OS 8.40.40.00/8.52.00.00 and later releases

  • NetApp E-Series
  • Dynamic Disk Pool (DDP)
  • Controller Platforms: E27xx, E56xx, E28xx, E57xx, EF300, EF600 and all associated EF-Series
  • SANtricity OS Controller Software 8.40.40.00 (11.40.4) and later releases in that family (8.40)
  • SANtricity OS Controller Software 8.52.00.00 (11.50.2) and later releases in that family (8.40)
  • All firmware releases in SANtricity OS 8.6x (11.60.x) and 8.7x (11.70.x)

Issue

  • Failed volumes in dynamic disk pool(s).
  • Possibly one controller in degraded state due to cache reclaim. This is by design to preserve dirty write cache data for the failed volume(s).
  • If AutoSupport is enabled, a case will be opened with subject EVOFLT:E-Series Notification from <array name> (Volume failure) CRITICAL
