E-Series remote volume mirror failure and recursive controller reboots after volume capacity expansion

Issue

  • After increasing E-Series volume capacity (DVE), the volume mirror relationship fails.
  • The E-Series events (Support > Events) in SANtricity System Manager and support bundle / AutoSupport (ASUP) major-event-log display below event:
Event type: 7C06
Priority: Critical
Description: Asynchronous mirror group member has failed
  • The controllers may recursively reboot after mirroring is resumed following the volume capacity expansion. The E-Series reboot will be for a segmentation fault (SIGSEGV) which can be retrieve from controller shell using excLogShow or support bundle / ASUP state-capture-data file:
