Issue

  • While attempting to upgrade drive firmware using SANtricity System Manager, the upgrade fails. A Web server 422 error is returned when attempting to transfer the firmware package: 

Error encountered transferring FIRMWARE_PACKAGE.dlp firmware package to storage array SYSTEM_NAME. (Web Server 422)

E-Series drive firmware upgrade procedure fails to authenticate the drive firmware package

  • The E-Series events (Support > Events) in SANtricity System Manager and support bundle / AutoSupport major-event-log display below events. These events indicate the firmware package could not be authenticated using the provided public key and signature in the firmware signing certificate.

Event category: Command
Priority: Critical
Description: The drive firmware package failed to authenticate using the provided public key and signature

Event type: 5084
Event category: Command
Priority: Warning
Description: The certificate timestamp did not verify
