Windows disk on E-Series volume rarely gets disconnected with Event ID 15

Issue

  • On rare occasions, Windows disk configured on E-Series volume suddenly gets disconnected
  • Windows system event indicates the following events:
    • Event ID 15  : The device, <PATH>, is not ready for access yet.
    • Event ID 157 : Disk X has been surprise removed
  • MPIO trace gathered by Windows host indicates DSM failed to return a path because of error c000000e

[control] utils_c7487 MPIOTokenOperationPath() - MPIOTokenOperationPath (FFFF9C0DE4F5B0A0): DSM failed to return a path because of error c000000e.

  • MAJOR-EVENT-LOG indicates implicit volume transfer happens almost at the same time
