Nominal temperature exceeded alert on E-Series (E4024) due to ambient sensor fault

  • NetApp E-Series E4024
  • All hardware running a similar E-Series enclosure/midplane architecture

Issue

  • The following alerts are reported on the E-Series system:
    • Failure Entry 1: NOMINAL_TEMP_EXCEEDED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 7
      Component reporting problem: Thermal sensor ambient
      Status: Nominal temperature exceeded
    • Failure Entry 2: WB_CACHING_FORCIBLY_DISABLED-Recovery Failure Type Code: 378
  • The environmental temperature at the installation site is confirmed to be normal (approx. 20°C).
  • Other temperature sensors report normal values.
