E-Series controller failed during SANtricity OS upgrade and replacement controller stuck in an ACS reboot loop

Issue

  • One Controller fails and enters lockdown during SANtricity OS upgrade from 11.70.4R1 to 11.70.5P1.
  • Controller firmware was observed to be activated but not completed it.

A:3/1/25, 3:18:28 AM (03:18:28) 60303 5046 Activate controller firmware completed - Shelf 99, Bay A

  • After replacement of failed controller, when the new controller is inserted, its stuck in an Auto Code Sync loop, and caused the controller to repeatedly reboot even after the controller is lockdown due to REBOOT LIMIT EXCEEDED.
