Issue

  • Old SVM root volume snapshots are seen to present in the SVM root volume

Cluster::> volume snapshot show -vserver svm1 -volume svm1_root

  • And the volume and vserver to have the right snapshot policy

  • despite which snapshots were not being captured
  • found the snapshot policy used by volumes were in not enabled state
