SCV restore task is stuck due to "Unable to unregister VM"

SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV) 4.3

Issue

  • SCV restore task is stuck at 25% in the Recent Tasks pane of vSphere Client.
  • The cancel icon of the task is grayed out.
  • The following messages are reported in vmcontrol.log.
