SCV does not allow some resources to be part of a Resource Group

Issue

  • SCV backups of other VMs or DS hosted on volumes of same SVM work.
  • SCV backups of some datastores (DS) or of VM's in that DS fail.
  • The following error message is seen in the backup log or while editing/creating the Resource Group (RG):

Following entities could not be added to resource group: datastore1, datastore2
These are possible reasons for this error:
1) All the Datastores and VMDK files used by VM
are not on supported storage.
2) All NetApp Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs) related to Datastore or VM are not registered within
