SCSQL backup fails during the create snapshot copy stage

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 4.4 and above
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL) 4.4 and above

Issue

  • Snapshot creation fails with the error seen in the Job Details in the Monitor tab:

Create snapshot '<snapshot_name>' failed: Snapshot operation failed. Could not connect to <SVM_IP_address> on port 443 for protocol HTTPS

  • SCSQL hosts have the SVM IP address and hostname/FQDN in the local Hosts file
