StorageGRID reports 403 forbidden error after 12.0 upgrade for S3 group policy

Issue

  • After upgrading to StorageGRID version 12.0, some applications encounter a HTTP 403 Forbidden error on all headObject operations and are unable to list S3 buckets when using a group policy:  software.amazon.awssdk.services.s3.model.S3Exception: Forbidden (Service: S3, StatusCode: 403)
  • Affected applications cannot perform uploads or headObject operations to their S3 buckets.
