Connection Reset by Peer between Storage Nodes and Load Balancer

Issue

Load balancer logs Connection Reset by Peer on communication with storage nodes.
Packet trace will show ACK  response (instead of SYN-ACK) on initial SYN  request in TCP session setup.
Followed by a few retransmits of same SYN request (and SYN-ACK response) before connection eventually getting reset.

Note the different sequence numbers between SYN request an ACK response.
