Veeam returning S3 error The specified key does not exist on StorageGRID bucket

Issue

  • Following an NTP outage, Veeam application reports repeated failures when attempting to perform a HEAD on objects from StorageGRID bucket.
  • Veeam has a Checkpoint_Removal.log that performs a HEAD request on an object in the GRID to see if its present for deletion.
    • The Veeam Checkpoint_Removal.log shows S3 errors such as:
