Storage appliance link down on network port alert does not clear

Issue

StorageGRID reports storage appliance link down on network port <port>  after a network related issue.

  • After the network recovered, the port shows Up from StorageGRID > Storage Node > Network:

  • The  Storage appliance link down on network port alert is still reported, even if the network recovered.

  • Running cat /sys/class/net/hic*/carrier via SSH session, the status is 0 from the affected node:

  • Running ip addr show command, the affected port is DOWN from the affected node:

4: hic1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,SLAVE,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq master bond1 state UP group default qlen 1000
    link/ether d0:39:ea:13:a6:db brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
5: hic2: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,SLAVE,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq master bond0 state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/ether d0:39:ea:13:a6:dc brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
