How does StorageGRID handle objects larger than 1 GiB?

  • Objects larger than 1 GiB are segmented in StorageGRID.
  • When performing a metadata lookup on such objects, the data and parity sections display the PATH of the segment container.
    (This PATH provides information about the actual object location and how the segments are combined.)
  • By looking up the UUID of the segmentation listed below, you can verify the individual segments themselves.
  • For a successful GET operation, all segments must meet the requirements for EC.
