StorageGRID unable to communicate with node due to SANtricity unexpected reboot

  • StorageGRID 11.6 appliance
  • SANtricity 11.70.3

Issue

  • One StorageGRID storage node reports "Unable to communicate with node" alert
  • StorageGRID Appliance installer can be accessed by the default password (admin/bycast), but no Reboot into StorageGRID button shown in GUI
  • The 7-segment display of the effected storage controller shows HO status
  • StorageGRID OS can't be recognized and lumberjack\PGE\syslog reports the below event during startup
 MM DD hh:mm:ss StorageGRID-PGE root: [YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss SGA] StorageGRID is NOT installed.
  • SANtricity MEL reports a watchdog reset event

 A:M/DD/YY, h:mm:ss AM 1778 4010 Controller reset - Shelf 99, Bay A  ----> Reboot Reason : CMGR: REBOOT_CMGR_BY_WATCHDOG_TRIGGER

  • grid/servermanager.log indicates that chunk and ldr service detect problem on rangedb(s)

verify storage problem: /var/local/rangedb/N not mounted.
