After performing a SANtricity OS upgrade, a StorageGRID node fails to exit maintenance mode and cannot be managed via the network. The following symptoms are observed:

  • Node stuck in maintenance mode after upgrade.
  • Management port (MgmtPort) does not link up; no network connectivity.
  • Reboot and power cycling do not resolve the issue.
  • SANtricity System Manager is accessible, but StorageGRID Manager reports port 22 connection error and cannot control the node.
  • Switch port for management interface shows PhysicalLinkDown
  • Rear indicators of compute controller :
    • Interconnect FC Port LEDs cycle green/orange
    • indicator “00” displayed
    • MgmtPort and 10/25GbE Port LEDs are off
  • Using the same cable and client, MgmtPort#2 on an adjacent node links up and responds to ping.
