Applies to

  • NetApp StorageGRID
  • StorageGRID Software: 12.0.0.1 / 12.0.0.3.
  • Nodes originally installed at StorageGRID 10.3 or earlier that complete one of the following upgrades:
    • From 11.9.0.x via combined upgrade to 12.0 with 12.0.0.1 or 12.0.0.3 hotfix.
    • From 12.0 to 12.0.0.1 or 12.0.03 hotfix.

Issue

  • Following node reboot during StorageGRID software upgrade, the services fail to start. The following error message can be found in the node base-os log /var/log/storagegrid/nodes/<node>.log:

INFO – ERROR: Failed to install existing hotfix in the container, not starting services.

  • If only applying hotfix 12.0.0.1 or 12.0.0.3 on a StorageGRID 12.0 node, the issue may only manifest on next reboot. A hotfix upgrade does not reboot node.
